Cow milk is the main source of income for people in rural areas along with agriculture. So people in rural areas worship their cows and calves and express their gratitude towards them. Along with this Vasu baras also has religious significance. It is believed that Goddess Lakshmi takes the form of a cow on this day. So people worship the cow to get the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi .Vasu-Baras, also known as the first day of Diwali, All members were present at the Kalashram Orphanage. Our Rotarian Ann's performed puja and then offered them puran-poli.
